{"id":2812,"date":"2014-04-24T11:19:47","date_gmt":"2014-04-24T06:19:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/1905.az\/?p=2812"},"modified":"2014-04-24T11:19:47","modified_gmt":"2014-04-24T06:19:47","slug":"russian-archives-refute-armenian-genocide-claims","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/1905.az\/en\/russian-archives-refute-armenian-genocide-claims\/","title":{"rendered":"Russian archives refute Armenian \u201cgenocide\u201d claims"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/1905.az\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/+++en_ermeni_soyqirimi_tehlil_manshet.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-2813\" alt=\"+++en_ermeni_soyqirimi_tehlil_manshet\" src=\"http:\/\/1905.az\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/+++en_ermeni_soyqirimi_tehlil_manshet.jpg\" width=\"649\" height=\"1023\" srcset=\"https:\/\/1905.az\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/+++en_ermeni_soyqirimi_tehlil_manshet.jpg 649w, https:\/\/1905.az\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/+++en_ermeni_soyqirimi_tehlil_manshet-190x300.jpg 190w, https:\/\/1905.az\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/+++en_ermeni_soyqirimi_tehlil_manshet-624x983.jpg 624w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 649px) 100vw, 649px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Among many\u00a0documents in foreign\u00a0archives which are often ignored or concealed, a document in Russia\u2019s official archives shows Armenians carried out mass killings in 1915.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The 65 page report was written by Russian Brigadier General Leonid Bolkhovinitov, who was stationed in the Caucasus front, and dispatched to the Russian military headquarters on December 11, 1915 and titled \u201cThe Real Situation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0It constitutes a follow-up to a report submitted to the Russian Tsar by Armenians on \u201cThe Activities of the Armenian Voluntary Bands in the Caucasus.\u201d Bolkhovinitov says in his report that \u201cArmenian voluntary units had started violent slaughters against the Muslim people with racist motives,\u201d and that Armenian reports given to the Russians did not reflect the actual situation in the region. The Russian official states in his report that \u201cWe shall not believe in the death tolls that the Armenians give. The number of missing people has been constantly exaggerated in the memos distributed by the Dashnak party and there is no doubt that they are politically-motivated.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Bolkhovinitov\u2019s report also underlines that the history of the events which he dubs the \u201cArmenian Problem\u201d go back to 1890.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Some of the important findings Bolkhovinitov lists in his report are:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li><b>European diplomats imposed the ideas of an \u201cIndependent Armenia\u201d on the Armenians. Armenian intellectuals in spreading seditious ideology among Armenians in the Ottoman Empire and designed the plan of shedding enough blood to bring about European intervention.<\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>Armenian terrorist organizations waged violence not only against Ottoman Muslims but also against Armenians who did not cooperate with them.<\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>Armenian voluntary bands engaged in brutal massacres against the Muslim population in the occupied areas; ethnically cleansed the Muslim population regardless of gender and age, plundered and destroyed the villages. These actions are systematic.<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">According to Bolhovitinov\u2019s report, Armenian voluntary bands who joined the Russian forces during World War I wreaked havoc on the civilian population of Anatolia.
