To say that the process of the resolving the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is intensified is impossible.
In the position of the opposite side there is no change and in the overall trend an aspiration of the Armenian side to somehow reconsider its views is not observed, Deputy Foreign Minister Araz Azimov has said at an event on “The scientific program for the sake of peace and security”, organized by the Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy.
According to him, during the whole negotiation process, Azerbaijan has repeatedly expressed dissatisfaction with the OSCE Minsk Group.
In the current geopolitical situation, particularly in view of the processes around Ukraine, we can say that in the relationship of the co-chair countries a serious tension arose, and I do not think that they will strive to reach a consensus within the OSCE Minsk Group. If the mediators try to create the appearance through the OSCE Minsk Group, it will not fit the interests of Azerbaijan,” said the deputy minister.
Azimov also drew attention to the outcome of the last meeting of the foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan in Moscow.
“This meeting, as I understood, has shown that Nalbandian, as always, speaks from a position of denial, which is unacceptable for Azerbaijan. The current situation can not satisfy Baku,” Azimov said.
However, he refrained from commenting on the possibility of a new meeting between the presidents of Azerbaijan and Armenia.
