Armenian armed forces violated the ceasefire with Azerbaijan 2,475 times in May.
According to the results of theAPA‘s monitoring based on the reports confirmed by the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry, Armenian armed forces fired at the positions of the Azerbaijani army using 60, 82 and 120mm mortars, grenade launchers and large-caliber machine guns.
Last month, Armenian armed units violated the ceasefire mostly in the direction of Aghdam district. On Karabakh front – the ceasefire was broken in direction of Fuzuli, Jabrayil, Terter and Khojavand districts.
Armenian army violated the ceasefire in the directions of Nakhivan Autonomous Republic’s Shahbuz district and Goranboy, Gazakh, Gedebey, Tovuz, Goygol and Aghstafa districts in May.
In May, Armenia’s leadership has officially confirmed that the Armenian armed forces resorted to armed provocation against Azerbaijan in early April, as a result of which the situation on the contact line has changed. During the counteroffensive, the Azerbaijani armed forces liberated several strategic heights in Aghdere district (former Nagorno-Karabakh Autonomous Republic), as well as in Fuzuli and Jabrayil districts.
The Azerbaijani armed forces have liberated 2,000 hectares of land from occupants and much more area is under Azerbaijan’s control.
Serviceman of the Azerbaijani armed forces, Yuzbeyov Emrah, soldiers Heydarov Ali and Tahirli Natig were killed as a result of the ceasefire violations by the Armenians in May. According to the statements of the Armenian Defense Ministry, they suffered more losses.
