Armenian armed forces have begun to use ammunition prohibited by international conventions to shell Azerbaijani positions and settlements near the contact line of troops, Azerbaijan’s Defense Ministry told APA on Apr. 27.
The Armenian side once again flagrantly violated the agreement on the cessation of military operations on the line of contact between Armenian and Azerbaijani troops, said the defense ministry.
The ministry stated that Armenian armed forces opened fire at the Azerbaijani positions and settlements near the contact line using ammunition prohibited by international conventions.
Armenia, through provocations, is trying to provoke the Azerbaijani side into active hostilities, the ministry added.
Azerbaijan’s defense ministry said that the military and political regime of Armenia bears responsibility for the developments along the contact line.
