The Azerbaijani armed forces have prevented an attempt by Armenian reconnaissance-raiding groups to cross the line of contact, Azerbaijan`s Defense Ministry said.
“The Armenian reconnaissance-raiding groups attempted to cross the troops` line of contact. The units of the Azerbaijani armed forces showed vigilance to uncover and prevent the sabotage,” a statement released by the Ministry said.

”After a heavy shootout the Armenian units were forced to retreat suffering loses,” said the Ministry.

According to preliminary official reports of the Armenian sources, two members of the Armenian reconnaissance-raiding group – Lieutenant Karen Galstyan and Private Artak Sargsyan – were killed in the incident.

The Ministry said the Azerbaijani Armed Forces “did not suffer any losses”.

“The Azerbaijani Armed Forces fully control the situation along the frontline and are ready to prevent enemy’s provocation at any time,” the Ministry of Defense added.
