Australian government urges an end to occupation of Nagorno-Karabakh

“It has been our consistent position that the governments of Armenia and Azerbaijan should come together peacefully to resolve the issue, to end the conflict and to end the occupation of the Nagorno-Karabakh area,” said Minister of Foreign Affairs of Australia Julie Bishop responding to the question of member of parliament, head of Inter-parliamentary Friendship Group on Azerbaijan Luke Simpkins on the Government’s position on the Nagorno-Karabakh dispute.

Analysis of the European Parliament Urgency Resolution

The biased anti-Azerbaijani resolution adopted by the European Parliament on September 9, 2015 faced serious protest of the community. The adoption of the resolution was accompanied with both biased and non-objective nature of its text and many more great and planned processes. These processes deal with national interests of the Azerbaijan Republic in one form or another and constitute a part of wide-range campaign against our nation.

Elkhan Suleymanov addressed 2 letters to MEPs regarding biased anti-Azerbaijani resolution

The European Parliament adopted non-objective and biased resoltuion against Azerbaijan on September 9, 2015. The vote passed with 365 votes in favor and 202 against, with 72 abstentions, which can be de facto counted as against, so 365 MEPs did vote for the critical urgency resolution, but 274 MEPs did not support the resolution. The voting results proved serious split of views towards Azerbaijan among MEPs.
