Despite Azerbaijan and Armenia agreed to restore ceasefire on April 5, the Armenian armed units on April 26-27 kept positions of the Azerbaijani army as well as residential settlements near the line of contact under intense fire using large-caliber weapons, mortars, grenade launchers and tanks.
One resident of Azerbaijan’s Aghdam district was killed, eight people injured as a result of shelling by Armenian armed forces, head of executive power of the Aghdam district Ragib Mammadov told Trend Apr. 28.
Armenian armed forces again grossly violated the reached agreement on cessation of military operations along the line of confrontation.
Starting from 23rd evening hrs., gathering additional forces and military equipment in the direction of Aghdere, the units of Armenian armed forces kept our positions and the settlements near the confrontation line of Terter district under fire by using large-caliber weapons, mortars, grenade launchers and heavy artillery. Using 122 mm D-30 howitzers enemy fired up to 20 projectiles to our positions.
The situation on the contact line between Azerbaijan and Armenia has remained tense as the Armenian Armed Forces shattered ceasefire a total of 143 times throughout the day, using 60mm mortar launcher and large caliber machine guns, Azerbaijan`s Defense Ministry said.
