President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has met with the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and deputy Supreme Commander of the United Arab Emirates Armed Forces Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Saudi Arabia.

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, first lady Mehriban Aliyeva, family members, as well as relatives and loved ones of national leader of the Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev have visited the Alley of Honors to pay tribute to the architect and founder of independent Azerbaijan, world-renowned statesman as May 10 marks the 94th anniversary of his birth.

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and first lady Mehriban Aliyeva have attended the opening of the 4th World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue on the theme “Advancing Intercultural Dialogue: New Avenues for Human Security, Peace and Sustainable Development” at the Heydar Aliyev Center. The forum is organized in cooperation with UNESCO, the UN Alliance of Civilizations, the UN World Tourism Organization (WTO), the Council of Europe, the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO), the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the North-South Center of the Council of Europe.

Untill 1974 the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe was always called “Consultative” Assembly in its Statute. They changed its name in 1974, as parliamentarians evidently insisted on the name change. In 1994 the Council of Ministers agreed with the name change, whereas aim, mission and scope of the Assembly, as referrered in the Statute, however remained exactly the same.

A scientific and practical conference “Armenian genocide: real history or historical lie” has kicked off in Baku. The conference is organized by the State Commission on Prisoners of War, Hostages and Missing Persons.
