Qubadli is a rayon in the Republic of Azerbaijan. Established in 1933. Located in the south-west of the Lesser Caucasus. It borders with the Republic of Armenia on the west. Its area is 800 km2, the population is 35,700 people (as of 01.01.2006). The capital is the city of Qubadli.

The area is mountainous. The Yazi ravine (between Bazarchay River and Hakari River), which is the south-eastern edge of the Karabakh plain lowers here down to 450 m. The Karabakh ridge turns into sloping and undulating Injeli ravine. Jurassic-anthropogenic sediments are spread. The area has agate and building materials deposits. The climate is mostly temperate subtropical dry. The average temperature is from -4°C to 1°C in January, from 14°C to 26°C in July. Annual precipitation is 400-600 mm. The rayon`s rivers are Bazarchay, Hakari and its tributaries. The most spread soil type is brown mountainous-forest. The vegetation comprises bushy and rare woods. Animals: wolves, foxes, grey hares, dormice, porcupines, jirds, etc. Birds: grey partridges, francolins, pheasants, pigeons. Qubadli preserve in situated within the rayon.
Qubadli is an agricultural region. Tobacco growing, grain farming, viticulture, sericulture and cattle-breeding occupy the major part of economy. The rayon is also home to plants producing butter and cheese, asphalt, concrete, machines, bread, a poultry farm, a quarry, a marble factory.
There are 38 secondary schools, a library, a club, 4 hospitals and other facilities in Gubadli rayon.
The cave-temple (4th century), castles (5th century), mausoleums (14th-17th century), a mosque (19th century), a bridge (1867) are registered architectural monuments in the territory of Qubadli.
