
In accordance with the annual plan of military cooperation between Azerbaijan and Turkey a group of servicemen of Azerbaijani Armed Forces left for Konya to participate in the exercises of “TurAz Falcon – 2016”, the press service of the Ministry of Defense said. The joint military exercises between the two countries will be held from 7 to 25 March. The second joint military drills will involve 3 fighters of MIG-29, 3 attack aircrafts SU-25 and military-transport aircraft “IL-76” of Azerbaijani Armed Forces.
Last year, in accordance with the annual plan of military cooperation between Azerbaijan and Turkey, the two countries’ air forces held the TurAz Falcon 2015 exercises that lasted till September 18. The Azerbaijani and Turkish air forces performed tasks of the planning of the joint actions of the two countries’ air forces, learning capabilities of interaction and coordination in carrying out operations, fulfillment of search and rescue actions, and eliminating ground targets with air strikes, etc. More than 30 means of aviation of the Azerbaijani and Turkish air forces were involved in the drills.
