“For many years, the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan has been violated. Armenia pursues an aggressive policy against Azerbaijan. As a result of this policy, 20 percent of our lands are under occupation, there are more than one million refugees and internally displaced persons. Ethnic cleansing policy pursued against us, Khojaly genocide committed. Today, 10 countries officially recognize the Khojaly genocide as an act of genocide”, – Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said at the 4th Summit of the Cooperation Council of Turkic-Speaking States in Bodrum, Turkey, APA reports.

According to the President, a position of international organizations on this issue is well known: “The UN Security Council has adopted four resolutions demanding the unconditional withdrawal of the Armenian occupying forces from the occupied lands. Unfortunately, these resolutions have not yet been fulfilled. Non-Aligned Movement, the European Parliament, the Council of Europe, the OSCE, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation – all these influential organizations in their decisions and resolutions supported justice, international law and, in fact, the position of Azerbaijan. However, unfortunately, the aggressor country ignores it, and the occupation continues. This question can only be solved on the basis of norms and principles of international law. Four UN Security Council resolutions must be unconditionally fulfilled. ”

The President noted that the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan must be restored, Azerbaijanis should return to their native land: “Despite the fact that everything is destroyed. OSCE fact-finding twice made trips to the occupied land, and in their reports reflected everything that was destroyed. Including Armenians brutally destroyed all our historical and religious monuments. This conflict is a great regional threat, while at the same time it creates a big economically problem for us. Despite this, in recent years, Azerbaijan’s economy is experiencing a period of successful development. ”
