Armenian Archbishop Iosif decided to organize an Armenian autonomy on the Don in 1779.

Manuk Abeghian, well-known literary critic, linguist, folklorist, academician: “… where the roots of the Armenian people are, how, when, at what time, from where and in what ways they have come here … We do not have exact and tangible evidence of this.” (“History of Armenian Literature”, Yerevan, 1975).

Azerbaijan has a statehood history of more than five thousand years. A thousand years of three millennia, beginning from Mannea – our first centralized state, are considered as a period of independent states, and two thousand years as a period of occupations.

Dr. Adil Baguirov holds degrees in International Relations and Business Administration from the University of Southern California (USC) and a Ph.D. in Political Science from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations. He is currently a post-graduate fellow at the Institute of Energy Politics and Diplomacy (MIEP) of the MGIMO University, and is a frequent speaker and writer on international conferences, journals and newspapers on the subjects related to the Caspian energy, Caucasus geopolitics and history.

An artificially created “Armenian case” has been a source of trouble in the Caucasus for several centuries. The Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is a serious problem for the region too. Superpowers played big role in making this problem emerge.
