“Initiatives of some public authorities do not change France’s position in any way”, Spokesman for the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs said during an electronic press conference while commenting on some French city mayors’ visits to Nagorno-Karabakh, APA’s Europe bureau reports.
He said France does not recognize Nagorno-Karabakh as an independent state and remains committed to finding a political and diplomatic solution to the conflict as an OSCE Minsk Group co-chair: “To give a new impetus to negotiations within the OSCE Minsk Group, the French president during his visits to Baku and Yerevan in May offered his Azerbaijani and Armenian counterparts to meet in Paris this autumn to discuss possible solutions to the conflict”.
