In the early 19th century (after signing of Gulistan Treaty of 12 October 1813 and Turkmenchay Treaty of 10 February 1828, which divided Azerbaijani territories between Iran and Russia), Tsarist Russia started to implement the plan on formation of “Armenian state” in order to create buffer zone in historical Azerbaijani lands.
It is nearly 100 years the Armenian Diaspora has been giving information to the international community from one-sided, mainly false and even intentionally distorted sources. Today parliaments and society of some countries recognized or are preparing to recognize events of 1915 as the “genocide” on the basis of the Armenian claims.
Military and political situation before the occupation
Quite a lot of research has been conducted into the origin of the Armenians and controversial hypotheses have been put forward to this end.

The book titled “Nagorno Karabakh: facts versus lies” (Нагорный Карабах: факты против лжи) by Arsen Malik-Shahnazarov, advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the so-called Nagorno Karabakh Republic since 1993, was printed in 3,000 copies by Volshebniy Fonar publishing house (Moscow).
