President of Armenia would be better direct his efforts and energy to the settlement of the conflict than make provocative statements
According to 1news.az, the statement came from spokesman for Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry Elman Abdullayev, commenting on Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan’s statement that “the right of the people of Nagorno-Karabakh to self-determination is undoubted”.
“Such a statement from Sargsyan once again confirms the unconstructive position of the Armenian side”, he said.
Abdullayev noted that the world community has long expressed its position on the settlement of the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict .
“The world community has accepted us together with the occupied territories of Azerbaijan, 1news.az reports.
It recognizes Nagorno-Karabakh and other occupied territories as part of Azerbaijan and it is high time for Armenia to accept this”, he said.
It is noteworthy that during his visit to Turkmenistan, the Armenian President stated that “the right of the people of Nagorno-Karabakh to self-determination is undoubted and the actual state of affairs should be displayed de jure”.
Serzh Sargsyan expressed gratitude to Turkmenistan for understanding and neutrality in this matter.
