Photographer: Famil Mahmudbeyli was born in 1979, in Baku. As his ages of adolescence fell on the years of war years, in 1992, when he was 13 years old, he went to the front. Being a volunteer, he was helping the soldiers, carrying weapons and ammunition in the military unit located in Aghdam. Since that time he took interest in photography and video operating. At the age of 15 he began to work as a decorator in Azerbaijan State Television, then as an operator and montage. Since 2007 he worked as a professional operator, and since 2012 was engaged in filming as a photographer in frontlines and other territories of Azerbaijan.
Over 30 of his photos were demonstrated in the exhibition titled “Description of Peace” (2014) organized by the European Union and Crisis Management Initiative. Now he is an independent photographer.

According to a UNESCO decision, the Mugham of Azerbaijan has been proclaimed a Masterpiece of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity. In Azerbaijan proper, where the Mugham is perceived as an integral part of a system of fundamental cultural values of the Azerbaijani people, this decision is viewed both as a recognition of the merits by outstanding representatives of the genre and as a desire to attract the attention of the world’s cultural community to this unique heritage.
The book titled “Nagorno Karabakh: facts versus lies” (Нагорный Карабах: факты против лжи) by Arsen Malik-Shahnazarov, advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the so-called Nagorno Karabakh Republic since 1993, was printed in 3,000 copies by Volshebniy Fonar publishing house (Moscow).
