Vilnius is hosting an international conference on “frozen conflicts in the former Soviet Union: the political significance and possible solutions.”
The main theme of the conference agenda is a discussion of the geopolitical situation in the former Soviet Union.
The event is attended by an Azerbaijani delegation headed by Chairman of the Council of State Support to NGOs under the President of Azerbaijan Azay Guliyev, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Lithuania Hasan Mammadzade and a board member of International Association “Israel-Azerbaijan” (Aziz), official coordinator of international campaign “Justice for Khojaly” in Israel Arye Gut.
Addressing the event, Gut noted that as a result of the Armenian aggression, 20% of Azerbaijani territory was occupied and more than one million Azerbaijanis became refugees and IDPs.
“Today, Armenia is completely dependent on the political and economic ambitions of Russia. It is the rich Armenian Diaspora that is saving Armenia from starvation. Private money transfers reach the mark of two billion dollars a year, plus – the sponsorship of the U.S. Congress,” said the Israeli analyst.
Then Gut provided participants with detailed information about the Khojaly genocide, emphasizing that the Khojaly tragedy is a crime against humanity.
The whole world must know about this crime of the Armenian fascists. People in high positions today in Armenia – Seyran Ohanyan, Serzh Sargsyan and others – as the organizers of the genocide must answer before an international court,” the Israeli expert said.
“Azerbaijan has never had anti-Semitism, and we, as the Azerbaijani Diaspora in Israel, are proud of it. Azerbaijan is a sample of dialogue among civilizations. Name another country where under the patronage of president and first lady two synagogues and the largest educational Jewish centre in the South Caucasus were built. I think you simply will not find the second similar country,” he summed.
